A Grade I Listed Building in Trotton with Chithurst, West Sussex

  • St George: c.1300 in Decorated style; oblong Early English west tower dates from c.1220; bell stage indicated by single lancets

  • St George: mortared rubble with window & door mouldings of Caen stone; windows with two trefoil lights & a quatrefoil opening

  • St George: interior looking east; no aisles or chancel arch; original roof with tie beams & arched braces; c19 east window

  • St George: interior looking west; late c14 wall paintings

  • St George: wall painting, c.1400 showing St Christopher bearing Christ & helmeted figures with Camoys heraldry (or on a chief gules three roundels argent)

  • St George: wall painting, c.1390; armoured figures wearing jupons

  • St George: wall painting, c.1380 as described by Matthew chapter 25; Christ in Judgement seated on rainbow flanked by angels & naked men; Moses below with nimbus & horns

  • St George: c.1380 wall painting depicting Seven Acts of Mercy surrounding Spiritual Man
