Farmhouse, now 2 dwellings. Mid to later C18, extended in later C18; with late C19 addition to rear. Handmade red brick with sandstone rubble plinth to the original portion (imitated with cement render to the addition), stone slate roof. L-plan formed by single-depth 2-unit main range, one-unit addition to the right with shallow rear outshut, and late C19 rear wing to the left. Two low storeys, 2:1 windows, with a vertical joint between the 2nd and third; formerly symmetrical; doorway with wooden doorcase and C20 pitched canopy; segmental-headed 3-light casement windows with raked stone sills and gauged brick heads. Cast-iron gutters with raised letter "D" at regular intervals (= Derby estate). Extruded gable chimney to left and enlarged ridge chimney at junction (the tops of both rebuilt). INTERIOR: the ground floor of the right-hand room of the original portion has a large axial beam with 2 big iron hooks in it (perhaps associated with former domestic industry such as handloom weaving).
