Description

ELSTRONWICK DANTHORPE TA 23 SW 7/40 Danthorpe Hall II House. Late C17 with late C18 rear wing and mid C19 cross wing. Red brick, rendered and pebbledashed, with grey brick dressings and slate roofs. Original range of 2 stages, 5 bays 2:1:2. Rusticated quoins, plinth. C19 panelled door and gabled porch flanked by 4-pane sashes with sills. Similar sashes to first floor. Massive rear wall stack to left bay. Left side, ground floor has a pair of brick panels with raised, square, motifs under dentilled quarter-round moulded cornice surmounted by brick pediments. A room to the right of the front door is lined entirely with late C17 panelling with moulded rails and muntins. Early C19 cut-string stair with scrolled tread-ends, re-used C18 turned and spiral balusters, and moulded handrail.
