TL 41 NW MUCH HADHAM WINDING HILL (south side) Much Hadham village

3/26 Hadham Grange (Formerly The Hill) -

- II House. Late C16/early C17 origin greatly enlarged early C20. Red brick, machine tile roof. 2 storeys of rectangular plan with many, projecting, 2 storey window bays. W entrance elevation has deep bracketed door hood. Canted bay to S and canted gable with square, 8-light, leaded window. Corner projecting window bay with some dummy windows. S garden front is basically symmetrical with central French window flanked by broad, 3 window, canted bays, all Ground floor windows with wooden, sunshade hood frames. Small pane mullion and transom casement windows. Some diagonal chimneystacks and C16/17 red brick chimneystack in centre of W range. Interior rooms below this stack have early C17, chamfered and stopped floor beams.
