LOCKTON HIGH STREET SE 88 NW (north side) 6/58 Oak Crag - II Formerly house and butcher's shop; now house. Late C17 house and C18 shop; remodelled and altered C20. Coursed roughly dressed limestone and dressed sandstone to front; coursed rubble to sides and rear; pantile and slate roofs; brick stacks Originally 2-cell, gable entry plan; extension to right added later. 2 low storeys, 3 window front. Irregular quoins to left. C20 stable door and flat, bracketed porch at centre right, with C20 window at end right, both beneath heavy milled lintels. To left, two canted 5-light bay windows. Attic windows are pivoting lights with glazing bars. Rear: outshut with catslide roof. Coped gable and shaped kneeler to left. End and right of centre stacks. Interior: good stone fireplace with corbelled lintel in the ground-floor main room, with two cupboards to the right. Chamfered beams exposed throughout the ground floor. On the attic floor of the earlier part a pair of raised crucks survive with studded partition in place beneath the collar.
