House. Late C17/early C18, altered and extended early C19 and altered late C19 and C20. Coursed limestone rubble with late C19 stone dressings, plain-tile roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 2-unit, through-passage plan. 2-storey, 2-window range. Central 6-panel door with panelled reveals and moulded wood surround and shallow straight hood. 2-light leaded casement windows to ground and 1st floors with chamfered stone sills and lintels. Dentilled brick eaves. 1-storey extension to left with 4-light leaded casements and stone sills and lintels. 2-storey extension to right with 2-light leaded casement windows to ground and 1st floors with similar sills and lintels. Right end section forms a shallow cross wing and has limestone and ironstone quoins. Garden front to rear has central part-glazed door with overlight and moulded wood surround and sash windows to ground and 1st floors with wood lintels. Back wall of 2-storey extension has been rebuilt in C20 brick. Said to be on site of the house occupied by Cromwell in Civil War.
