Description

SK 32 NE PARISH OF MELBOURNE MAIN STREET, KINGS 3/122 NEWTON 10.11.67 (South Side) Four Gables, No 36 GV II House. Late C16 and C18 with C19 and C20 alterations. Small square panel timber framing with painted brick nogging on stone plinth, and painted brick. Plain tile roof with overhanging eaves and three tall banded brick ridge stacks. Four bays, that to east timber framed, and single storey plus attics, except for two storey eastern bay. Main elevation has a central studded wooden door covered by an open timber porch with gabled plain tile roof. To west there are two 2-light small paned casement windows below timber hoods and to east there is one similar 4-light window and another similar 2-light window in the eastern bay. Above there are four similar 2-light windows, the three to west in gabled dormers and that in eastern timber framed bay set considerably lower with blank gable above. Eastern elevation of this bay has a fixed small pane window to ground floor and a small 2-light window in gabled dormer above.
