A Grade II* Listed Building in Brixham, Torbay

  • St Mary: entrance to the church; sturdy three-stage west tower, small arch contains statue of the Virgin; four cinquefoiled lights at belfry

  • St Mary: c15 church largely cemented exposed on hillside; reroofed & restored 1907

  • St Mary: castellated transept & south porch; polygonal stair turret at west end of aisle; restored Perpendicular tracery

  • St Mary: north & south Beerstone arcades with early c15 thin tall piers, moulded capitals, depressed arches; east window thought to be original

  • St Mary: shell piscina in chancel

  • St Mary: coat of arms of Bishop Courtenay of Exeter (1478-1487) from the piscina

  • St Mary: early c14 font with square base with dogs at corners

  • St Mary: late c15 recess on north side of chancel intended for funeral monument

  • St Mary: recess on south side of chancel; Tudor arched with canopies
