Former bishop's residence, now office. Early C19. Yellow brick with stucco dressings, slate roofs. L-plan with single storey service block in internal angle. EXTERIOR: 2 storey. E front elevation, 3 bays with giant stucco pilasters rising from podium to parapet with upper cornice concealing roof. Ground floor centre bay recessed with central flat headed porch with parapet and entablature and Tuscan pillars on stylobates. Doorway has rectangular fan-light and 2-leaved door with 4 panels, upper 2 glazed. Windows in outer bays have stucco dressings with console brackets to hoods. First floor, 3 plain sash windows. Stack seen behind parapet above N bay. N elevation, to Queen's Road 3 bays similar to E front with 4 giant stucco pilasters between podium and parapet. 2 E bays have ground and first-floor plain sash windows. W bay has slightly projecting capped stack and plain ground and first-floor windows, replaced in C20. Stack seen from front between centre and E bay. Rear, W elevation, 2 window range, plain with pair of French windows with steps down. First floor, 2 plain sash windows. To S, single-storey service block set back with three C20 small casement windows. S elevation irregular, arm of wing to S, ground floor, large C20 inserted multi-casement metal window and small sash window with glazing bars, 3x4 panes. First floor, central large window with fan-light now altered with inserted doorway and fire-escape stair, to W, sash window with glazing bars, 3x4 panes, to E, inserted C20 double casement window. Service block to W, one ground floor and 2 first-floor sash windows, 3x4 panes. INTERIOR: essentially plain, stair well at rear of central bay top-lit, refined shaped handrail and cast-iron balusters in rinceau form. Rooms have some simple plaster ceiling decoration and internal folding window shutters.
