Large detached dwelling. Mid C18. Brick, stone modillion parapet cornice, Welsh slate roof. Central block parallel range,later wings side immediately on road, forming tripartite composition with scattered openings. Main facade to river (east): three storeys, three-windowed, sashes without bars under step- ped voussoirs, at ground floor deep openings to floor level; central six-panel door, of which four glazed, plus fanlight under moulded arch. C19 verandah full width, wrought iron decorative supports, dentil cornice, swept lead roof. C19 stair with stick balusters, various contemporary panelled doors. This is said to be the house of 'East Lynne' in Mrs Henry Wood's novel.
