Open-hall house, now cottage. C14 or C15, re-modelled C17 with considerable late C20 alterations. Timber framed of cruck construction now nearly all rendered over, slate roof. Original plan an open hall with service and solar bays at each end, floored over early C17. One storey and gable-lit attic; framing: cruck truss with collar exposed to left gable end and a fragment of wall-plate to back wall; irregular fenestration, late C20 casements to left, right and centre, latter on higher level; gabled porch to far right with re-built brick end stack above. Interior: chamfered spine beam to main ground-floor room with heavy joists; timber framed (rectangular panels) cross and spine walls, one beneath second cruck truss with infilled doorway; apexes of crucks and all traces of third cruck (dividing hall and right-hand bay) destroyed during late C20 re-building of outer walls and roof. Formerly known as Lane End Farmhouse.
