House. C16 or early C17 E wing, large extension linked to W 1982. Timber frame on roughcast brick sill, exposed with red brick infill, plastered infill to S end, exposed wattle and daub at N end. Steep old red tile roof. C20 part roughcast above red brick ground floor, with red tile roofs. A 2-storeys, 2 bays building on roadside formerly a separate cottage facing E associated with Grange Farm, possibly originating as a crosswing to a hall house extending to W. E side now has 4 brick panels to each floor in each bay, a small 3-lights diamond mullioned window to 1st floor in LH bay (restored) and a 2-lights casement to each floor in LH bay. Very large external S gable chimney with offsets. N end has central post and jowled corner-posts, 4 panels to each half on each floor, C18 2-light leaded casement upper window, long straight braces, clasped-purlin roof on collar at gable, and roofspace plastered up to collars as former attic.
