Country house. Fragment of a house of 1609, much altered in C18 and re- fenestrated in C20. Red brick in English bond. Hipped roof of red and smut pantiles. Rectangular plan of two and three storeys. South front of eight bays; sashes with glazing bars under segmental arches. Doorway off-centre to west: 6-panel 2-leaf door, rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, moulded architrave. Later portico on square wooden columns and pilasters. Tall stair window with infilled semicircular arched head above doorway. Two storeys to west of doorway, three storeys to east; roof and eaves line continuous overall. Elaborate eaves cornice. Polygonal angle shafts to east wall with cement capping. Ridge stack at east end. On the north side, three large external chimney stacks with weathered offsets and pantiled links to main roof. Small plaintiled roof between two eastern stacks. C20 2-storey flat roofed projection to west side of centre stack. Casements with glazing bars; two sashes with glazing bars at west end. West wall has two tall sashes with glazing bars. Attached red brick garden wall at north-east corner with dentilled cornice and saddleback copings.
