Manor house. Built about 1909 by J.L. Ball. Coursed, squared and dressed limestone with flat coped gables, stepped out at eaves. Some with open work finials at their apex. 2 diagonal, ashlar chimneys from stack projecting from facade, right. Rectangular ashlar stack from ridge left. Central, 2-flue, ashlar stack from ridge left. Central, 2-flue, ashlar stack with round-headed arch between flues. All stacks have moulded tops. Flat roofed extension to gable end left. C20 prefabricated building right not of listable quality. The whole resembles an 'X' with flattened centre in plan. 2 storeys and attic. 2 wings flanking central entrance block with projecting 2 storey porch with parapet, decorated with 2 ball finials; sundial with strapwork surround and string below. Principal gable behind porch. Downpipes on main body with Roman numerals. M (1909) on rainwater heads. CM lX Rainwater heads on other facades have the initial H. Central C20 round-headed panelled double door at front of porch, in round- headed surround with imposts and keystone. Spandrels with rose decoration against square lattice background. Door surround is flanked by 2 doric order columns supporting a frieze with strap- work decoration, segmental pediment over with central cartouche surrounded by rose decoration on relief. Irregular fenestration to main body with 2 and 3-light, flat-chamfered, stone-mullioned windows, some with transoms. Windows to ground floor have flat hoods. C20 casements with leaded panes to all windows. Two bull's eye windows, with 4 keystones in each surround, flank the central 2 storey porch at first floor level. Single storey extension left has rusticated quoins with parapet and vase finial over. Limited interior inspection. Some plasterwork ceilings.
