SD 46 NE SLYNE-WITH-HEST KELLET LANE (off) 6/207 Beaumont Grange II
House, early C19th. Scored render with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Symmetrical 2 storeys with central bay of 2 1/2 storeys, 3 bays. Central gabled bay projects, with a one-storey ashlar porch having diagonal buttresses, corner pinnacles, battlements and a 4-centred door head with hood mould. Windows have deep chamfered surrounds and glazing bars. Those on the ground floor have hood moulds and wooden mullions and transoms. Those on the 1st floor have wooden mullions, except for the central one which has a hood mould and a sash. Under the central gable is a small window with chamfered surround and semi-circular head. The gable has 3 finials with gablets. Stacks, on the gables and on each side of the central bay, have diagonal caps to the flues. On each side of the central block are pavilions in the form of squat battlemented towers with battered walls and a single chamfered window surround in the front wall. Screen walls link these with the house, each having a chamfered doorway with a 4-centred head. At the rear is a wing having chamfered surrounds to sashed windows with glazing bars.
