the description shall be amended to read: House. Late C18 possible on ancient foundations, rebuilt mid C19. Rear extension c.1930. Flemish bond brickwork alternating red and grey brick stretchers and headers to west front on old stone plinth. Roadside front appears to have been rebuilt mid C19 in reused coursed squared and dressed limestone with shaped gables of different coloured brick. 'L'-shaped plan. Two storeys and attic with single-storey extension. Flat-chamfered plinth to roadside front: shaped gable to the left with rectangular 4-light stone-mullioned rectangular bay window with stone-mullioned Tudor-arched lights with carved spandrels to the ground floor, the bay continued up to form a 4-light canted bay also with Tudor-arched lights at first floor level; 2-light. stone-mullioned window with stopped hoods to the attic. Three-light stone-mullioned casement with stopped hood and small shaped gable to-the first floor of the range at right angles to the right. Single-light casement with Tudor-arched stone surround with carved spandrels to the single-storey extension to the left. Left-hand return: 4-light stone-mullioned casements with Tudor-arched lights, carved spandrels and stopped hoods; 3-light stone-mullioned casement with stopped hood and small shaped gable above; 2-light stone-mullioned casement to the right. C19 four-panelled door at centre under a gabled canopy with curving brackets, pendant and finial. Interior not inspected. The house is said to be on the foundations of a cell of Tewkesbury Abbey. The surviving building is a mystery with C18 brickwork but a largely C19 external appearance.
