Farmhouse; C15 or early C16, altered probably C17. Rendered infill (part at least wattle and daub) to timber-frame, thatched roof. Four bay, 2 storey, upper largely in roof. Facade to road, C20 conservatory on left, not of special interest. Windows leaded lights. On left 2-light casement, iron opening light; long brace to main post from sill; boarded door, 2-light casement to right. Above 2-light casement in swept dormer at eaves level. To right further 2-light casement, blocked doorway: framing beyond changes from 2 panel high to 3: half-glazed C20 door. Half hip to roof on left; brick chimney on ridge to right of blocked doorway: ridge drops slightly to right. Left gable: wavy cruck truss: external brick stack, 3 offsets; semi-circular, random rubble projection on left for oven, nearly flat top. Two-light casement window in gable. Interior: stop-chamfered stone jambs to wide fireplace at right end. Heavy chamfer to ceiling beam left end: exposed chamfered ceiling joists throughout ground floor except end bay on right. Ladder-like stairs each end to upper floor. Second cruck at left end, otherwise collar trusses. Three-bay house enlarged one bay to right C17.
