House and adjoining former servants' quarters. Circa 1805 for the Harris family. Rusticated and incised stucco with eaves cornice, blocking course and angle pilasters. Graduated greenslate roof with incised stucco chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 9 bays with lower 2-storey, 4-bay adjoining house. Early C20 glazed double doors in prostyle Tuscan porch. Sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. Rear facade faces onto Main Street: panelled door in pilastered doorcase with flanking stained-glass windows. Sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. Interior has moulded plaster ceilings in each room. Panelled shutters to each window and panelled doors. Built-in datestone in hall, inscribed R. & A.H., I.H. 1662, is thought to be from an earlier house on the site. No. 20 has facade to street. Panelled door and sash windows in painted stone surrounds. Further adjoining house No. 18, part of the same property, is not of interest.
