House. Right part probably 16th century or earlier: left part 18th century. Said to have been subdivided into 4 separate cottages in C19, now all in one ownership. Rendered walls, probably over stone and cob; thatched roof half-hipped to right end; axial stone stack to centre, large projecting stone stack to left gable with rendered brick top, narrow rendered brick stack to right end; corrugated iron roofs to rear lean-tos. PLAN: right end probably originally of 2-room plan with central through-entry, altered in C19; late C19 and C20 lean-tos. Left end of 2-room plan with rendered rubblestone rear lean-to. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. 2-window front to right has early C20 side-hung casements and plank door to right of centre. 3-window front to left has central early C20 door and small-paned 2-light casements (6 panes per light). INTERIOR: not inspected but noted as having the following features. Right end: ground-floor room to left has simple arrow stops to chamfered bridging beam and joists, winder stair adjoining blocked fireplace and recess with moulded architrave to front (probable former doorway). Timber partition between the 2 rooms incorporates cupboards with HL hinges, besides the partition being a step in ceiling level (possible former internal jetty). Right-hand room has rough chamfered beam and winder stair. First floor has timber lintel with narrow chamfer and simple mantel, and exposed heavy principals of probably original roof Left end: C18 joinery including raised and fielded panels to doors, including alcoves to ground and first floors with ogee-decorated cupboards. 18th century pegged A-frame trusses.
