Court or manor house. C15, altered C17 and subsequently. Rubble with freestone dressings, bands of ashlar alternate with the rubble in the wing at the right, double Roman tiled roofs, rubble and brick stacks but to the right is a square, ashlar stack with a pierced upper section with double trefoil headed openings to each side. Irregular Z-plan with cross passage, hall at right with projecting oriel, service end at left with rear wing. 2 storeys and attics, 3 bays with projecting wings at right and left. The set back centre has a chamfered and pointed doorway with a 2-light casement window above in chamfered surrounds with mullions and under cusped, 4-centred heads. The projecting wings both have later single, 2-light and paired casement windows in plain surrounds; in the inner wall of the right wing is a small light in a hollow chamfered surround with a trefoil head. On the outer wall of the left wing is a projecting stack with off-sets; set back wing with square window of 4 pierced quatrefoils on ground floor and small pointed light above. Single storey lean-to at right under a pantile roof. Rear elevation has 2 first floor windows similar to those on the front, chamfered at 4-centre headed doorway; service wing at right has 2-light casement flanked by small pointed lights in gable end. Interior. Cross passage retains two stone service doorways in stop-chamfered and 4-centre headed surrounds. Kitchen (rear right): rear wall has stone fireplace in stop-chamfered and a 4-centre headed surround. Little sitting room (front right): formerly an oriel, with a tall, double chamfered, pointed archway of freestone and now blocked. Front left: restored freestone firesurround in a hollow-step-ogee moulded and 4-centre headed surrounds. Little hall: former service room to left of cross passage; spice cupboard with lattice work door and butterfly hinges, small stone niche. Pantry: small stone niche and freestone doorway in chamfered and 4-centre headed surround. First floor: the right hand rooms have moulded wall plates of original hall and 2 carved figure head corbels (one defaced); front right room (oriel) retains a wide freestone fireplace in a chamfered and 4-centre headed surround; rear left bedroom has studded plank door with strap hinges, a chamfered and arched surround. Roof, over the former hall (right), of 3 bays with collar beam trusses and 2 pairs of curved windbraces to each bay.
