NAILSEA C.P. CHURCH LANE (east side) ST 46 NE 6/55 The Rectory G.V. II

Rectory. Mid-C18, incorporating earlier building, with late C19 rear wing and later alterations and additions. Rubble, rendered, double Roman tiled roofs, limestone dressings to rear wing. Irregular plan formed by accretion. 2 storeys, gable ends of 2-span roof, 6-panelled door to right with reeded pilasters, fanlight with radial glazing bars and pediment, sash above; to left a mid-C19 block slightly advanced, of 2 storeys and 2 windows, ground floor has 2-light C20 casement and 16-pane sash, first floor has sash and 16-pane sash in exposed boxes, 3-pane light at upper night, single light at ground floor right. Right return has 3 sashes at ground and first floor, parapet and coping; left return has roof hipped to right, door and first floor sash in exposed box, single storey garages attached to rear left. Rear has gable end to left with sash at ground and first floor, wing projecting at centre has large paired plate-glass sashes at ground floor with chamfered mullion and transom, sash above, similar plate-glass sash left and right with 8-pane sash at first floor; to right, ground floor has C20 2-light casement and French window, small single light to right, first floor has 2 sashes. Interior: not inspected.
