House, formerly rectory. Said to have been dated 1726 on plaque, altered late C18-early C19, and extended early C20. Brick, with eaves cornice of narrow dentils and hipped old tile roof. Double pile. 2 storeys, basement and attic. W. front is of header brick, and has taller central section with shallow gable and dominant flanking chimneys. Chimneys have flint quoins and rectangular shafts with band courses and off-set heads. Between the chimneys are a centre bay with door, arched first floor sash and altered stone plaque, and narrow flanking bays with 2-pane sashes, blind to first floor, and blind square attic windows. Outer windows have flat brick arches; central first floor window has gauged brick arch and jambs in rusticated flint surround with stone keyblock. Whitewashed stone sill course and band course below first floor windows. Door is 6-panelled with segmental radiating fanlight, and has wooden porch with Doric columns and cornice hood. Approached by 5 stone steps. S. front has 2 bays with large tripartite sashes to ground floor, 4-pane sashes above and 2 gabled dormers with paired barred wooden casements. Basement has cambered arches, the left with C20 barred wooden casements, the right over blind opening. Central tall narrow doorway with rusticated flint jambs and semi-circular arch, now with C20 glazed door and fanlight. False window above with flat-headed similar flint surround. Matching C20 bay to right with French doors and flint surround to 4-pane sash above. N. front has irregular brickwork, 4-pane sashes, central basement door and arched staircase window, leaded casements to basement, and other later openings. Interior much altered early C19.
