TL 74 SW ASHEN RIDGEWELL ROAD, West Side 1/3 Nos. 66 and 67 II
House, C17, divided into 2 cottages, altered in C20. Timber framed, roughcast rendered, roofed with machine-made clay tiles. 3 bays aligned NE-SW with central chimney stack. 2-storey flat-roofed extension to NW, and single-storey lean-to extension to SW, C20. Single storey with attics. SE elevation, 4 C20 casement windows and 2 more in gabled dormers. Grouped diagonal shafts on stack. The interior has jowled posts, heavy studding, chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops. The tiebeams each side of the central chimney bay have been removed, and the roof appears to have been rebuilt to a steeper pitch than the original, possibly for thatch, later replaced by tiles.
