2/9 Valley Farmhouse
- II Farmhouse. Early C18, altered 1753 and C19. Brick and rubblestone with brick dressings. Some of north east or rear elevation colourwashed. Old tile roofs. 4 bays with rear wings to outer bays and infill to south east angle. 2 storeys plus dormers. South west front has 6 panel door in lattice porch, second bay from right. 3 ground floor early C19 tripartite sashes, 4 first floor sashes all 4 pane except above doorway. Band course between storeys, plinth. Moulded timber cornice. Traces of early C18 window arches. Rubblestone south east gable elevation with brick dressings and datestone at apex 'E.T. 1753'. Rear elevation north west wing of 2 storeys and one bay, brick with segmental arches over mullioned and transomed 3-light leaded windows. Rubble gable elevation, brick gable and gable stack. Then 4 panel door with hood, bay of 2-light leaded casements. Painted brick gabled 2-storey projection in third bay from north-west. South east wing one storey in colourwashed rubble and brick, leaded casement flanking stacks and two 3-light dormers, one flat roofed and one gabled. Interior: Rooms either side of hall have early C18 box-cornices, left hand room panelled. Early C18 closed stringstair with turned balusters and square newels.
