5/13 ELLERKER MAIN STREET SE 92 NW (north side) 5/13 The Hall - II House. Mid-late C18 rear range, front range added c1800, and drawing room to right added (perhaps as a billiard room), late C19. Rendered, pebbledashed and colour-washed with stone dressings; graduated slate roofs to C19 sections, pantiles to the earlier range. 2 storeys, 5 bays; plinth and rusticated quoins. Bay 3 rises as a canted bay through full height of the house. To the right is a door of 6 raised and fielded panels with overlight in porch with panelled piers flanked to extreme right by a sash with glazing bars in a shouldered architrave. To the canted bay are 3 similar sashes; similar sashes again to the left. First-floor sill band to 7 sashes with glazing bars in shouldered architraves. Modillion eaves cornice and low pediment with raked cornices to front of the bay. Hipped roof, axial stack. Right and left side walls of the front range have a full-height canted bay with sashes with glazing bars and 16-pane sashes to centre. Single-storey 2-bay drawing room extension to right has 2 sashes with glazing bars in eared architraves: rusticated quoins, modillion eaves cornice. Side wall has Doric doorcase to French window with margin-pane glazing. Interior: many features of c1800 survive including a number of panelled doors in fluted doorcases with paterae, rosettes, and masks; a cut- string stair with scrolled tread-ends, wrought-iron balustrade of stick balusters alternating with elegant pelta-shaped balusters and slender wreathed handrail.
