Former lodge, now detached house. 1885 by William Clissold for Edward Paul. Ashlar limestone; ashlar chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Single-storey, cruciform plan. Italianate. Open pedimented north and south ends with Tuscan corner pilasters having paired shaped brackets above; brackets also to pediment cornice. Eared oculus with fluted architrave. Single keyed segmental arched sash window at north end with moulded architraves, imposts and bracketed sill. Moulded round arched recess at south end with tripartite sash. Central projection to west side with low-pitched gable having projecting bracketed verge; oculus with eared and fluted architrave. Banded rustication be1ow impost level moulded bands; central rusticated round arched recess with paired round arched sashes with moulded architraves and bracketed sills. Single keyed segmental arched sash in plain outer parts of facade. Plainer rear elevation with similar fenestration to central projection. Two small gables at outer ends. Two ridge-mounted chimneys each have paired columnar shafts with moulded caps and bases and mid height rustication band. Interior not inspected. Built as lodge to Rodborough Manor. Railings and gateway (q.v.) stand alongside Bath Road. (D. Verey, Gloucestershire: The Cotswolds, 1979)
