Former rectory built c1846, architect Henry Jones Underwood. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with ashlar dressings; slate roof with ashlar, and brick stacks. Rectangular main body with service cottage on the east; wall c1Om long runs away from the service cottage to the trap store. House; 2 storeys and cellar. Dressed stone plinth, flat-chamfered rusticated quoins at ground floor level becoming clasping pilasters at first floor level, thence forming a band below the eaves. Three-windowed entrance front with gable projecting forwards slightly, to the left. Two 8- pane sashes with lugged architraves to the ground floor; cellar window below the right-hand window; twin sash with two round- headed lights and a plain architrave to the gable; 8-pane sash and a twin 8-pane sash to the right, both with lugged architraves. Band between floors. Central C19 four-panelled door up 3 stone steps. Left-hand return has a similar gable to the left and similar fenestration which includes a 4-light canted bay with sash windows with horizontal glazing bars. Service cottage set back to the right of the entrance front: 2-storey, 2-windowed facade lit by twin 8-pane sashes with dressed stone surrounds. C19 door with 4 flush panels. Wall c2.5m high runs away to the right with shuttered hatch, 6-panel door to the right. Store for pony trap with double doors far right. Hipped roof to the main body; gable- end and off-the-ridge stacks; wide eaves with brackets. Gable-end stack to trap store. Interior of house not inspected.
