Large House. C18, extended late C18 - early C19 and C20. Thinly- bedded roughly squared and dressed limestone with rusticated quoins; mostly stone slate roofing; concrete tile and some slate at rear; stacks covered with incised render. Rectangular plan to main body with a stairs projection off-centre left at the rear; slate- roofed extension to one side of the stairs projection; C18 extension on the opposite side (raised in height and given a flat roof C20); late C18 - early C19 extension to the north gable end of the main body. Two storeys and attic; extension: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 2:3:2-windowed facade to the main body with later 3- windowed extension to the left. All windows 12-pane sashes with plain architraves; keystones and moulded sills. Blind window (painted to imitate a sash window) upper right. Band immediately above the ground and first floor windows. The band over the first floor windows is interrupted by a segmental pediment over the central window. Central double part-glazed doors with glazing bars, triple keystone and rusticated quoins. Three hipped roof dormers to attic; tripartite sash at the centre; 12-pane sash to the right; blind 12-pane sash to the left. Fenestration to the ground and first floors of the south gable end similar to that of the garden front but with modillion eaves cornice and a Diocletian eaves dormer with a dressed stone architrave. Single sash window to first floor of the stairs projection and a small 6-pane sash with a dressed stone surround keystone and imposts to the gable. Three-windowed west front to the extension with sash windows and bands matching those of the west front of the main body. Segmental-headed 2 and 3-light window casements to the north gable end: C19 four-panelled door with the upper two panels glazed and a plain glass fanlight off-centre left. Axial stacks. hipped roof to C18 range and late C18 - early C19 extension. Interior retains its original C18 open-well staircase with turned balusters, wreathed handrail and decorative brackets to the risers. Panelled room to the ground floor has bolection moulded fireplace; fireplace with fluted columns and a frieze with a plaque with pastoral scene at the centre and festoons either side.
