SP 01 NW WITHINGTON FOXCOTE

5/162 Foxcote Grange II

Former house and cottage, now made into one. Late C17-early C18, C19 and C20. Large blocks of coursed squared and dressed limestone to main body. C20 extension random limestone. Slate and artificial slate roof, ashlar stacks and C20 stone stack. Rectangular main body with C20 extension at right angles. Main block: 2 storeys and attic. Gable end front; 2-light double- chamfered stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods lighting gable end. Double C20 glazed doors within flat-chamfered surround to ground floor of gable end. 1½ storey porch right with C20 studded plank door within flat-chamfered surround. Two-light C20 casement to upper floor. Three-light C20 stone-mullioned casement to C20 extension set back slightly right. Left return; one 2- light and one 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement. Two-light casements with horizontal glazing bars to within segmental-headed surrounds with plain architrave. C19 two-light stone-mullioned casement far left. Small 2-light casement with glazing bars to upper floor. Two 2-light roof dormers. Flat gable-end coping and stepped gable-end coping. Interior: moulded stops to tie beams and square-panelled timber- framed partition wall.
