PRESTON NORCOTE SP OO SW 3/113 Norcote House II Large detached house. Probably originally early C18, enlarged in C19 and altered c1928 by V.A. Lawson. Random coursed or coursed rubble stone, stone slate roof, scattered stone stacks. Double range with projecting porch wing to north and 2 cross ranges to west, mainly 2 storeys and attic. South front faced in roughcast with three windows, 12-pane sashes with flush stone quoins not covered by roughcast. Ground floor has large C19 canted bay to left with full length windows of C20, and French windows to right. Two small flat-roofed dormers. Projecting eaves. Two cross wings to west have C20 three or four-light casements on first and ground floors. Rear elevation to north has projecting porch wing in centre of main range with double doors of 2 fielded and one flush panel each, 12-pane sash with large flush quoins over and 9-pane sash in attic gable. Cross wing immediately west has small 2-light casement with timber lintel to first and ground floors and single small attic light. On south side of garden is a semi-circular ha- ha.
