LOWER ALLITHWAITE SD 37 NE 5/23 Hill Farmhouse II House. Probably early to mid C18. Roughcast stone with slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Windows have plate-glass casements. Flat-topped dormer. Entrance has flat bracketed canopy and glazed door. Gable-end stacks, that to left corbelled out. Rear has gabled wing with single-storey extension. Lateral stack with round shaft. Round-headed stair window. Interior has stop chamfered beams; fireplace inscribed: "IS/1799". Stair has panelled square newels, turned balusters and moulded handrail.
