Description


The following building shall be added to the list:-

CRANBROOK FLISHINGHURST TQ 73 NE Old Mill Cottage 3/316 II

House. C17 or earlier extended in C20. Timber frame with plaster panels and some brick pitching; south west elevation faced in weatherboarding on ground floor and tile hung first floor. Large brick axial stack.

L-shaped on plan. Original internal arrangement not known but slightly lower north east wing has large axial stack and a later outshut at its north east end.

2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window southwest front with C20 2 and 3 light casements with leaded panes and no doorway. Left return and rear of south west range have curved tension braces on first floor, the right hand return has straght tension braces. All small C20 casements with leaded panes and on north west elevation a C20 plank door. At end of north east wing the hipped roof is carried down as catslide over extension which has been raised in C20 with weatherboarded walls and hipped roof.
