GV II* House. Early-mid C17. Brick in random bond with ashlar dressings, pantile roof. Square on plan with 2 parallel ranges to road and a third range at, right angles behind them. 3 storeys, 2 gabled bays. Chamfered ashlar plinth and ashlar quoins. Two 5-light chamfered mullion windows to ground and first floors, each set with cyma recta moulded string course immediately above. Second floor: blind 3-light chamfered mullion windows with chamfered string course above, in decorative stepped and ogee-shaped gables with finials to the steps and apex, shaped kneelers to quoins. Sundial to left gable. Large ridge stack to each of front ranges with triple diamond set flues. Other facades have mullion windows and similar string courses. Tudor-arched doorway to left return, modern doorway to right return. Interior: early C18 oak panelling to main reception room with bolection moulding and narrow coved carved cornice. 2-tier chimney-piece with eared fire surround with pulvinated frieze carrying pilasters with carved swags of foliage. 3-panel doors on H-L hinges. Coat of arms in C17 painted glass in window. Original splat baluster staircase unfortunately removed.
