Believed to be former church of St. John Baptist converted into farmhouse. Late medieval, C16 and C17 conversions and later additions. Brick flint and some ashlar dressings with black and red pantiled roofs and some slate. Former church forms main block with a C17 stair outshut, enveloped by C18 and C19 rear lean-to additions. Further C20 additions to east and south. 2 storey with attic. South facade late C18 of 3 bays with 4 main windows of 3 lights beneath segmental arches. C20 casements with horizontal glazing bars in Victorian style. Transoms to ground floor windows. Skewback arches to front door and 2-light window above. Simple dentil cornice and plain platband. Flint west wall with medieval features. C14 central doorway blocked by fire- place behind with chamfered reveals and hood mould. Small blocked window in stone with rectangular hood mould probably C16. Ashlar quoins. Victorian 2-light window in Gothic style with cusped ogee tracery and some coloured glass. Victorian 2-storey canted bay on end wall of outshut beside original gable-end. Plate glass sashes at first floor, French windows below. To rear continuous outshut with catslide roof. C17 stair outshut extended out- wards to form continuous line with C18 outshut. Large re-positioned sash window with glazing bars And segmental head to stair. One gable-end stack to west, one former gable-end stack to east, now axial,and one to rear of original main block. Interior with fine early C17 4 ramp dog-leg stair with tapered square-sectioned balusters and unusual suspended arcbed bulkhead decoration with carved pendants and'syhndrels, Elaborate' chamfer stops to various newels and rails. C18 roof.
