HARDINGHAM LOW STREET TG 00 NW 6/51 Hardingham Grove - II
House. Early C17, completely refaced and added-to in late C19. Timber frame faced with brick. Pantile roofs. Earlier blocks in 2 phases forming an L plan. Victorian additions to front and rear. 2 storeys with attics. 3- bay entrance facade symmetrical with a-slightly advanced central aedicule with flanking pilaster buttresses serving as chimney flues. 2-leaf front door with decorative hinges beneath a 4-centred head with rectangular hood mould. 2-light and single casement windows above with rectangular hood moulds and a curvilinear gable. Reticulated moulded brick frieze above door- way. Flanking window bays slightly advanced having sash windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. Dentilated stringcourse and rectangular hood moulds. Other facades in a similar style including a particularly decorative cantilevered passageway with a timber frame on carved brackets with herring- bone brick nogging. Several moulded brick chimney shafts. Interior retains some original timber frame including a clasped purlin roof and a butt-purlin with collar roof. The latter roof has lower butt purlins of square section diagonally set.
