SK 80 NE HAMBLETON 7/125 Old Priests House 14.6.54 II

House, probably late C16 in origin,and of various builds. Rubble with ashlar quoins. Stone tiled roof and coped gables. Large stepped stones to gables. Long main facade, 1½ storeys. To the left, 1 bay with door to left and 2-light stone mullioned window with dormer above. Gable and axial stack. Right of this a full height ashlar gabled bay window, with canted mullioned bay to ground floor, and upper gable corbelled out above it, containing a 3-light mullioned window. Beyond this, a change in wall-line and type of masonry, rubble with flat ashlar string course, 1½ storeys with dormers and 2 ground floor windows, one renewed. Doorway to right. Buttresses to this section of walling and to rear wall, which is built into slope and forms the boundary of the churchyard.
