SK 27 NW PARISH OF STONEY MIDDLETON THE BANK 4/92 (South Side) Brook Cottages. GV II

Warehouse, now two cottages. Early C19, converted in 1970. Coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings, quoins and plain bands linking lintels. Slate roof with stone ridge. Stone coped gable with moulded kneeler to east. Stone gable end and ridge stacks. Two bays, two storey cottage over another two storey cottage. Entrance to upper cottage from the Bank; this elevation completely remodelled in C20. South elevation has two C20 casements in original flush surrounds with two similar windows over. Below, lower cottage has three C20 casements in flush surrounds with segmented headed archway to west. To first floor three similar windows. See also Brook Cottages, Mill Street.
