5/156 Dovecote & pigsties to south-east of Crossrigg Hall

2-storey dovecote with adjoining single-storey pigsties, forming south and west sides to courtyard at rear of former house. Built c1830. Coursed, squared rubble with quoins; band between floors on dovecote. Hipped, graduated slate roof to pigsties. Dovecote has pyramidal graduated slate roof with bird openings to sides of central turret which has an ogee lead dome surmounted by a weathercock. 6 plank doors, 5 with segmental heads, open into courtyard. 2 small sashes in semicircular-headed architraves to external wall on south side. On each face of the dovecote, just below the eaves, is a small circular opening with radiating tracery.
