House, now house and shop. Early C16, extended in Cl7 & with front block rebuilt in early-mid C19. Timber-framed with wattle & daub and brick infill with rearmost range partially clad in red & painted brick. Front block of red brick. Low-pitched slate roof to front block, with axial brick stack behind ridge; tiled roofs to rear with stack on rearmost block. Two gabled dormers facing west on front - most of rear blocks. Front block : three storeys. Two window front, the window bays placed irregularly. Glazing bar sashes, shallower on 2nd floor, that on first floor to right with gauged head. Shallow canted bay on first floor to left, probably later C19. Later C19 shop front on ground floor with double shop front with central 2/3 - glazed door & boarded door to right leading through to yard at rear. Rear block : east-side. Two parts, that to right probably of early C16, that to left of Cl7. 2 storeys; rare survival of 10 and 6 light windows on first, floor & a 6 light window to right on ground floor, though the exact sequence of lights is difficult to make out given the blocking of same lights and the interpolation of small sash windows into panels of the frame. A large number of diamond mullions survive, the studs & posts of the frame of the building being cut into diamond sections to resemble mullions where the window passes them. Interior not inspected.
