SWERFORD CHURCH END SP3731 9/193 Rectory Cottage
GV II House. 1728 on datestone; extended C20. Coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels; concrete plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. 3-unit plan with rear wing and large addition. 2 storeys plus attic. 3-window front has C20 casements in all windows except for one 12-pane sash in an altered ground-floor window to right; central window was probably the entrance. Datestone, with a straight moulded hood, is inscribed "F/WE/MDCCXXVIII". Roof has gable parapets with projecting moulded kneelers. Lower rear wing, returning on left, may be contemporary. Large C20 range to right is not of special architectural interest. Rear is now entrance front. interior not inspected. Included for group value.
