SPARSHOLT SPARSHOLT STREET SU38NW (West side) 6/137 Sparsholt House

GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Mid-late C18 to left, extended and remodelled in early C19; graffito in brick right of door JB/AM/AB/1834. To left is glazed dark brick in header bond with red brick dressings; to right is Flemish bond brick with flared headers; old tile roof; brick stacks. Original house with outshot extended to double-depth plan in 1834. 2-storey, 5-window range. Broken pediment, decorative fanlight and engaged columns to architraves of 6-panelled central door. Flat brick arches over horned sashes, inserted c.1960. Dentilled eaves. Gabled roof, left end stack, double and triple flue ridge stacks to -gabled roofs set at right-angles to rear. Interior not inspected.
