House, formerly Inn, c.1740, rear wing extended c.l880. Squared tooled stone with dressings; slate roofs. Front 2 storeys, 4 irregular bays. Raised quoins. Bay 3 has porch with renewed door and small casements in returns, moulded cornice and parapet. Late C19 sashes in older raised stone surrounds. 3 small rooflights. Gables have moulded kneelers and overlapped slab coping, stepped and corniced end stacks with conjoined shafts. Left return has 6-pane casement and blocked window in raised surround above; small attic window has similar surround and projecting stone bracket below. Set back to left a 2-storey rear wing in two parts: right section 1 bay, late C19 sashes, similar gable and stack; left section, 3 slightly irregular bays; French window and late C19 sashes, those to 1st floor in similar gabled half dormers.
Interior: kitchen to rear retains C18 fireplace and in-situ dog wheel.
The Inn was closed down c.1846 when Sir Walter Trevelyan, later first president of the United Kingdom Alliance for the Total Suppression of the Liquor Traffic, inherited the family estates. The original inn sign which hung on the stone bracket, with portraits of Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots, is preserved at Wallington Hall (q.v.).
