4/35 Weetwood Bridge 21/9/51 1
Bridge. C16, altered mid C18. Ashlar. Single, high, wide elegant arch, forming hump-back bridge is flanked by pilaster strips each bearing a niche with a round inset panel above. North end of bridge has square projections with blocked round- headed arches; and round end piers with big conical finials. Flat coping stones on parapet. The approach walls have a drip stone at the base of the parapet supported on small corbels. The roadway is narrow over the bridge itself but the parapet splays out either side to allow vehicles to pass.
