House, formerly public house. Early C18. Timber-framed and rendered; roughcast to north gable wall. Mansard roof: dark plaintiles alternating with bands of fishscale tiles; decorated ridge. 2 internal chimney-stacks with tall plain red brick shafts. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, cellars and attics. 2 window range: sashes in flush cased frames with a single vertical bar to lights. 2 flat-headed lead-covered dormers with 2-light 4-pane casement windows. 2 flat-headed canted bays to the ground storey have sash windows with a single vertical bar and diminished side lights. Central entrance up steps: doorcase with reeded pilasters and plain architrave; 4-panelled door with 2 leaves. Later extensions at rear. INTERIOR: very small chamfered main beams exposed on the ground storey, and some widely-spaced framing visible on south side wall. In the upper rear wall 2 original 2-light casement windows with square leading and ornate catches. Plastered attics.
