Farmhouse, now house. Early C17, added to and refronted C18; further alterations and large additions C19 and C20. Original section timber-framed with wattle and daub infill; at front, ground floor underbuilt in brick of 2 periods and 1st floor tile hung. Added outshut on right brick with glazed headers in Flemish bond on'rubble- stone plinth. Early C20 cross-wing on left of brick in Flemish bond with tile-hung 1st floor. All with plain tile roofs. 2 storeys with loft to original 2-bay section. C18 outshut on right; early C20 cross-wing on left; further late-C19 and early-C20 additions to rear and set back on right not of special interest. Original section has late C19/early C20 wood-mullioned casement windows of 1,4 and 3 lights to ground floor and two of 3 lights above; stack at left end. Outshut has one timber-lintelled sash window and roof hipped on left. Cross-wing has canted bay window with sashes to ground floor, 3-light window with casements above, and half-hipped gable; lateral stack on left. Right return has entrance in C20 porch; small-pane dormer window to outshut. Interior: The C17 house survives well, encased by the later addition: the square-panelled timber frame is exposed, having heavily-jowelled posts; chamfered beams with step stops and run-out stops, including square-sectioned floor joists; in roof, central queen strut truss, queen-post trusses to original end walls(left gable formerly infilled), square-section morticed-and-tenoned rafters with carpenters' marks (out of sequence) wind braces. Large, originally external brick chimney, with timber bressumer to ground-floor fireplace and bread oven in side (opening from rear wall). On lst floor original central partition wall dividing bays. Reused old board door to ground floor in rear wall.
