MAYFIELD WEST STREET 1. 5208 Cranesden TQ 5826 40/528 II 18.3.73 2. Said to date from the C14 with traces of C16 and C17 work. Extensively remodelled in the late C19. Two storeys and attic. South elevation red brick. Hipped tiled roof with tall C19 red brick chimney stacks. Two gabled dormers. Three projecting bays with casement windows. Behind some C16 timbering is exposed. Ground floor close-studdied with moulded bressummer above. Star-shaped panels on first floor. Coved eaves cornice. Later C19 extensions in red brick and tile hanging. The interior contains exposed moulded beams.
