House. Late C17, with C18 additions complete restoration and refurbishment in progress (1993). Timber-framed and plastered, clay tiled roof, red brick stack. H plan. One and a half storeys. All external features, including rebuilt stacks, 1992/3. Basket pargetting, casement windows 1, 2 and 3-light. S front elevation: doorway and stack off centre to E. 4 window range, roof half hipped at E end, 3 gabled dormer windows. Gabled brick and timber projecting porch. E end elevation: gable end of principal range with shallow rear weatherboarded lean-to, behind wing to N (central to principal range) with large stack through roof pitch, picture window and doorway aperture below. To N, gable end of rear wing parallel to principal range with single storey gabled projection. W end elevation: gable ends of principal and rear parallel range, link block between and set back. All units in house style, 4 window range. Rear N elevation: 4 window range, flush. INTERIOR: not inspected but seen to have exposed studding and ceiling joists. Sequence of construction - (1) C17 3-celled lobby-entrance house with timber lintelled fireplace to central `hall'. Brick arched headed fireplace to parlour at E end. (2) rear C18 kitchen wing with big timber lintelled fireplace central and at right angles to (1). (3) further C18 additions as range set at N end of (2) and built parallel with (1).
